OperettAlzheimer is a loving homage to the two-handed tragicomic solo accompanying her disease’s emptiness. It’s a solo because you feel unspeakably alone when you face someone who does not recognise you any more. Tragicomic because life is often like this. Two-handed because it’s the only pair of hands we have and sometimes they are not enough.

Marzia Gambardella, born in Italy, has studied and worked as an actress in Rome and Milan. In 2009 she moved to France to work with Philippe Genty. In 2016 she founded “MalaStrana Compagnie” in Paris, interested mostly in a visual form of theatre where gestures, sounds, images, materials and puppets give shape and substance to our emotions and contradictions.
