State Puppet Theatre – Burgas, Bulgaria

State Puppet Theatre - Burgas is a professional theatre for children founded in 1954 and gained its status of a state theatre in 1962. Since then, characters from many Bulgarian and world classics for children have been brought to life on this stage.

A whole galaxy of talented actors present with love and enthusiasm the prestigious repertoire and master all kinds of puppets, presenting plays created by the best directors, scenographers and composers in Bulgaria. All this happens in an excellent work environment, with great interest from spectators and professional recognition from colleagues and theatre critics.

State Puppet Theatre – Burgas has proven to be one of the leading theatres in the country staging more than 300 plays, having more than 10 000 performances played, 3 000 000 spectators, oversea tours in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, numerous individual and collective awards from National and International Festivals.

A beautiful, poetic and funny story about a weird Fillyjonk who lives alone on a distant, northern shore. She is so afraid of disasters that she nearly doesn’t go out of her house. The only living creature around is Gaphsa who is also pretty strange. They are both doomed to be good neighbors but the Fillyjonk’s fears are an obstacle. Actually the best way to fight your fears is simply to embrace them, isn’t it?
